Carrie-Anne and I have just returned from a wonderful 10 day holiday with friends in Thailand. The weather was fantastic and the food was amazing! One of the realisations I had while over there was how blessed I am to call NZ home. It is so beautiful here, and so peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok!unnamed

In the different seasons of life, we sometimes manage to find peace…other times we are desperately seeking a peace of sorts, to perhaps escape from the “stresses & strains” that surround us. While I am currently feeling refreshed and grateful, I know some of you reading this will be going through a different season right now, and I just want to lift you up and I pray that we are all able to get that true peace in our lives.

As I prayed about what to write for today, I felt the Lord saying “My Peace” as my head hit the pillow and I drifted off to sleep (still slightly jet-lagged). When I woke up on Saturday morning, I read thisdevotional in Word For You Today – which really affirmed this leading. Isn’t it awesome how God can confirm things for us?

Jesus’ peace came from spending time with His Father. For us to get the same peace we should strive for the same. We can do this through prayer and conversation with our Father. As Phillipians 4:6 says:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Be encouraged as you head out into the week ahead…..and be blessed – trusting that God will be with you and meet you where you are at!
