Today we are blessed. If you are reading this then that’s a good thing – you have breath & life in you! Rejoice in the Lord & Give thanks!
The next question, now that we’ve established that we have this gift of today, is what are we going to do with it? (all 86,400 seconds!)
I spent last week in Wellington and was blessed to meet with a number of people during my time there. The common theme across almost everyone I met with (believers and non-believers alike) was“Man, life is busy – how do I know that I’m doing the right things with my time?”
I know for myself, the challenge can certainly be to put God first in everything I do. For me this means scheduling in regular time to read His Word and pray. While I would love to say that I always keep to this schedule, that is not the truth. Truth, however, is what we find in the pages of the Word of God…
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12
The Lord is speaking to us and telling us what we need to do next. Sometimes it’s really difficult to hear Him because of the noise around us. We have to push past the distractions of this world and seek Him first.
So why not ask the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth, what His plans are for you today?
