Don’t let the noise of the world block out the voice of the Lord !!

We are fortunate at church to have some great Bible teachers and this mornings message ( from a Business Edge member) about Intentional Solitude really reminded us  to take intentional time out from of the busy, multimedia world we live and work in, to listen, talk and communicate with God.

” We live in a noisy, busy world. Silence and solitude are not 21st Century words. They fit the era of Victorian lace, high-buttoned shoes, and candles better, than our age of TV, video, phones, computers and devices, forever screaming at us to pick them up, plug them in, listen, watch, reply, but do not ignore! ”

Jesus often withdrew from the crowd, the niose, the issues of the day and took time out to talk to His Father and listen for futher instruction .. Luke 6:12 .  In  Mark 6:31 , Jesus encouraged His disciples to come away to a deserted place and rest a while!  “ Come ye apart… before you fall apart” !!

The advantages of Intentional Solitude with God?

  • Sharpens the mind… more success
  •  New perspectives on business issues
  • Less stress
  • Clarity and direction
  • Increased creativity
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Joy and happiness increased

How much time does it take?? Even a few minutes of Intentional solitutde with God will change things.

The picture on the right is of my favourite place just 10 minutes from home!.. God and I have had some life changing conversations up this mountain..!!

Be encouraged this week, to TAKE TIME to “come apart” with the Lord and see how it multiples your productive time, solves issues,  and restores your soul
